What is TPPA?

The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement ("TPP") is a free trade agreement currently being negotiated by nine countries: The United States, Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam.
Also three countries are interested in joining negotiations: Canada, Japan and Mexico

What is the Free trade agreement?
Free trade agreement is the agreement between the joined countries to open the market to the foreign countries so its can export much products more freely than recent. For example, daily products from NZ.
The TPPA was first created under purpose of developing the international market of joined countries which is equal to increase of profit and economy by the trade. However, as anything have merit and demerit, TPPA also contained a huge bomb inside. The purpose of this article is to discuss whether TPPA is profitable to countries or not.

Merit of TPPA

As briefly explained at introduction part, there are few profitable merits to the countries by TPPA.
One is that it let countries to export products globally and freely. This is because the free trade agreement force countries to treat overseas companies fairly which means consider it’s as equal to the domestics. If overseas company is much profitable for economy than domestic one, country must consider importing more products from them. This will be a trouble later on, but will talk about it later on.

Another is that USA is joining the TPPA. USA could be one of a greatest international trade partner because of it international marketing scale. Joining of America might give profits to TPPA countries because TPPA countries have a huge chance of gaining large amount of trade profits by selling products to USA market. Another country which is interested in joining and also could be great trader is Japan. However, Japan is still on the process of consideration because what USA expects from Japan is too much.

Demerit of TPPA

Because of the World Wide Web (Internet), people have easier way of gaining information compare to the past. Of course there is inaccurate information everywhere, but sometimes there is the extremely important information could be given. Today's example is about the truth of TPPA. By the improvement of information technology, people now know the huge demerit of joining TPPA.

First, as it explained above, free trade agreement is to treat any company fairly the no matter which countries its from. However, please imagine if USA’s large multinational companies decides to start the business in other countries. What would happen? Some of the companies will be over taken by them because they have enough money to win the competition. Business is all about money, and stronger company always have much money than others. President Obama thinks the same
Because the USA carries huge multinational companies, it will never be the fair trade.

Second worried issue is the expectation from the USA joining TPPA. This expectation was hidden from the people until it'd been leaked, which is similar case of what happened in NZ.
One of a most important chapter need to be considered and discussed from the USA expectation is about the copy right issue. It is the legislation to protect the skills, knowledge and culture to be stolen or been copied they say. However, it is not that easy. If its only for the DVD, movies or games it is fine, but USA is expecting everything which have the copy-right to be included in the legislation. For example, if that legislation has been created, people could be arrested by just looking at internet website because people look into the copy-right information. USA also included in a chapter that police could arrest them without getting any claims from the copy-right holder. Recently, if holder doesn't claim the issue, police have no rights to arrest, but they will be able to after the law has been changed. Not only the criminals, citizens could be arrested as well with no excuse. Because of this, the New Zealand is now worried to sign the agreement between the countries. Not only the New Zealand is worried, but other countries as well. For example, Japan was interested in joining the TPPA but the citizens weren't because they know that their cultural products like comics and animation could be restricted as well. Trouble is that some politician thinks it is better for the country to join the TPPA, or maybe they mean it is beneficial for them selves sadly.

Conclusion

From the discussion above, the conclusion is that TPPA might be beneficial for the countries, but also carry the risk of terminating the domestic companies after the USA large multinational companies target the foreign countries market seriously and also the culture could be destroyed by accepting the copy rights expectation from the USA. To prevent that, each country must look back the TPPA agreement contents again and sign the form of agreements carefully after they are sure that it is beneficial for the own countries. They must also make changes when new countries are joining to stop a single country gaining much power than others.

First step to wider free trade
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10491556
The article says that the USA is keen to join the TPPA and it is on the judge and process of accepting. TPPA is still on the process of making the agreement more efficient and beneficial to the countries joint and of course New Zealand could gain the benefits as well. For example,
the group signed a wide ranging free-trade agreement in 2006, but this did not include financial and investment services - now it will.

http://creativefreedom.org.nz/2012/how-tpp-affects-nz-artists-and-what-the-us-wants-our-police-to-do-next/
This article is very simple and talks about a single important issue such as;
"
Allowing copyright holders the ability to ban parallel imports of copyrighted material (eg DVDs), denying New Zealanders the right to purchase overseas content"
And it also explains that the USA require to accept this agreement so the NZ police could arrest who breaks copy rights which wasn't illegal before.

The article explains that the proposal of USA joining TPPA included the legislation relate copy rights. Few countries considers that
"Excessive copyright rights and enforcement adversely affect that ability of creators to create content, the ability of technology companies to make innovative products, and that ability of users to use content in new ways."

TPP secrets: Obama covertly granting more power to multinational corporations
http://rt.com/usa/news/tpp-obama-corporations-trade-725/
The idea of the TPPA was to reduce the trade barriers between countries so the trades (Import and Export) could be much efficient and beneficial. Of course the "Free Trade", there mustn't be any power by political which affect positive on any particular companies. However, Obama secretly promised multinational corporation could grant more power towards trade against foreign countries.

US Trans-Pacific Partnership proposal leaked
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/03/11/us_tpp_proposal_leaked/As USA wish to join the TPPA, it offered a list of what USA want to add in the TPPA agreement. however, that secret proposal was leak and it says that "in some interpretations, override consumer protections that already exist in individual nations (parallel importation rights of CDs, for example, seems under threat were the US proposal adopted)."
